The Salvamac story begins in Poznań, Poland, one cold afternoon back in March 2016. Warmed by some hot coffee, business partners Christian Salvador and Ziemowit Dolkowski’s dream vision, despite presenting a challenge and involving uncertainty, was for people to come first and machines second. Christian and Ziemowit didn’t lack experience, each having worked in the industry for over 20 years, while also bringing an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and machines. Although involving sacrifices, this wealth of knowledge also brought incredible results, as Christian Salvador explains. “We wanted to grow even more, in order for us to realise something bigger and more dynamic; to make an even greater contribution to our customers; to really and finally put the user at the centre of everything. Passion comes before the economic aspect, and in our heads and hearts we had many new technological ideas,” he comments.

2016: Classic 40, 50 & 60

The Classic_40, 50 and 60, semi-automatic and manual cross-cutting saws require limited investment but represent a decisive step towards faster, safer and more efficient production. Over the years, Salvamac has, and continues to, add to this core product range, introducing new aggregates that significantly increase the performance of these undoubtedly ‘simple’ machines. This has been made possible through the introduction of intelligent loading and unloading systems, as well as automations that allow even small businesses or sophisticated craftsmen to move towards a completely new perspective.

2017: SalvaStop_100

In 2017, among the aggregates Salvamac also launched the new SalvaStop_100 measuring stop device, a system that electronically manages the stopping and positioning of boards or profiles to be cut, regardless of material. The system benefits from high speed and absolute precision, thanks to a state-of-the-art brushless electronic motor. From a mechanical perspective, due to its design, although it doesn’t require ongoing maintenance, a high degree of robustness and precision is still assured. Salvastop_100 can be installed on the Classic 40, 50 and 60 models, transforming substantially ‘entry level’ machines into real semi-automatic cutting centres, which can also be interfaced with Salvamac’s management software. This example demonstrates how the concepts of Industry 4.0 can also be applied to ‘stand-alone’ machines, offering impressive performance with a low investment. Salvastop can also be installed on other machines, adapting to those applications where it is necessary and providing measuring and cutting operations in an extremely effective way.

2018: Air&Painting

In 2018, another step forward came with the creation of Salvamac Air&Painting. As this system was launched into an already established market, Salvamac decided to introduce another high quality product at the same time, allowing them to stand out from the competition. In fact, Salvamac have been challenging existing positions in various markets for many years, and with this new range they again wanted to stay true to the company philosophy, launching ranges from the ‘Artist’ painting booths, equipped with innovative sandwich panels to provide increased strength and devices that greatly reduce consumption, to the ‘do it clean’ sanding benches. In addition to the ‘Painting’ division, which includes ideal solutions for various sized companies, Salvamac also offer ultra-robust and efficient dust extractors, bag, sleeves or cartridge filters, as well as complete customised suction systems.

2019: new software for industry 4.0

At Ligna 2019 in Hannover, Germany, Salvamac presented their leading products, including optimising saws and the Salvapush_2000 pusher saw, along with a brand-new software package, which can be easily managed by any user. Similar to a smartphone interface, the software features website graphics and data setting on a large touch screen, with all the electronic components in digital communication with each other. Not only that, but the recent developments in barcode data import and the relative ‘just in time’ management systems – from the development of the customer’s order to the finished product – make it a unique market solution for production processes, even in single batches. These very flexible and cutting-edge technical solutions facilitate communication both upstream and downstream with company software management, thus creating fundamental principles of industry 4.0.

2020: Salvamac Selection

As part of the Salvamac project in 2020, the third branch of Salvamac Selection was set up, comprising a range of different products with the same culture and philosophy that distinguish Salvamac as an international company. This is a real novelty and creator Christian Salvador sums it up: “Our network and its strength will allow us to introduce new products for the solid wood industry each month. These are high-quality machines, as in our history, but at a price that allows more companies to choose the technological path. The strategy is clear: to optimise the process and use every possible ‘country advantage’ to produce machines with the highest quality and affordable prices for the customer.
